Michael Nerrie\, founder and CEO (Chief Environmental Observer) of Distant Hill\, will lead us on an after-hours walk exploring the fascinating world of fungi. Set on 155 acres of biodiverse forest\, fields\, and wetlands spanning the Walpole–Alstead town line\, Distant Hill offers an ideal landscape for discovering mushrooms and other woodland fungi. \nAs the group explores the trails\, participants will search for emerging fungi while learning about their critical role in forest ecosystems—from decomposing organic matter to forming underground partnerships with plants. This relaxed field walk offers landscape professionals a closer look at the hidden fungal networks that support healthy soils\, resilient forests\, and thriving landscapes.\n___________________________________________\nExperience the Industry! \nLandscape After Hours (LAH) are free events that provide opportunities for landscape professionals to get together in a casual atmosphere while getting out and seeing interesting and innovative projects\, sites\, and services in NH’s green industry. Learn what state troopers are looking for during commercial vehicle traffic stops and how to avoid fines by operating safely and legally. \nFrom there\, cycle through a series of stations focused on safe use of equipment in lawn\, landscape\, and hardscape jobs\, as well as equipment maintenance and injury prevention through safe body mechanics. \nOwners and managers – we have a special session just for you! Learn from your peers about their proven strategies for increasing workplace and job site safety.
