{"id":6006,"date":"2025-06-18T19:07:15","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T23:07:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nhlaonline.org\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=6006"},"modified":"2025-06-18T19:18:14","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T23:18:14","slug":"tree-and-shrub-renovation-pruning-for-tree-care-and-landscape-professionals-2","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/nhlaonline.org\/event\/tree-and-shrub-renovation-pruning-for-tree-care-and-landscape-professionals-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Tree and Shrub Renovation Pruning for Tree Care and Landscape Professionals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Led by NH certified arborist and a board-certified master arborist, Lee Gilman, this hands-on training will guide participants through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>how to differentiate between maintenance pruning and renovation pruning<\/li>\n<li>how to grade the structure and form of trees and shrubs<\/li>\n<li>how to prioritize the most beneficial and efficient pruning opportunities<\/li>\n<li>how pruning cut choices impact\u00a0plant health, structure, and growth response over time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This session provides a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on experience, with guidance from arborists and UNH Extension pruning mentors. \u202fWe\u2019ll spend approximately one hour indoors discussing pruning concepts and standards, then we\u2019ll move outdoors for hands-on learning and demonstration, working within the ANSI A300 Part 1 standards.<\/p>\n<p>Participants should bring their own pruning equipment, including hand pruners, loppers, and pruning saws. A limited number of loaner tools will be available. The majority of this session will be held outdoors. Please dress for the weather and bring water.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/learnforlife.unh.edu\/branding\/events\/reg\/participantTypeSelectionPreview.do?method=load&amp;entityId=576184022\"
